Mortgage Assistance
Employer Assisted Housing Benefit (EAH) – Mary
Wade Home awards a maximum of four forgivable loans of $5,000 to
four eligible employees per calendar year. These loans are specifically
to help employees purchase homes in the geographic areas which are
listed in the Benefit Plan Description.
Adult Education
Certified Nursing Aide/Team Leader – This course
is offered to Certified Nursing Aides. They will be educated and
trained to be responsible for the mentoring and training of new
CNAs, under the direction of a licensed and/or registered nurse.
Medication
Technician – This course is offered to Certified
Nursing Aides. They will be certified in medication administration
for PO, topical, eye, ear, inhalants for residential care assisted
living level of care. The curriculum is outlined in the Regulations
of Connecticut State Agencies, Section 19-13-D6.
Neighborhood Support
Employee Services – This is a workshop
offered to employees who are Zone residents of Empower New Haven.
The instructor is hired by ENH. The workshop covers the importance
of a job, the development of team work, how to safeguard your employment
and counseling services.
Tuition Offset
The Mary Wade Home offers reimbursement for tuition
and cost of textbooks for eligible employees who satisfactorily
complete an approved course at a recognized college, university
or evening studies program. Many staff members have taken higher
education courses and improved their career paths while working
at Mary Wade.
S.O.S. Club
Staff is invited to join the Support Our
Staff group
held once a month on the 1st Wednesday from 2:30 - 3:30 p.m. Our
goal is to help support each other in the work that we do and learn
new or better ways to deal with everyday situations that may arise
while caring for the residents and clients. We will learn new techniques,
increase our confidence and grow in our professionalism!
